“Birthday Dress” Featured in Capitol Hill Art League Artists’ Choice Exhibition

6.jpg

Open to interpretation and slightly mysterious, “Birthday Dress,” a faceless portrait, presents a content two-year-old bedecked in a frilly layered dress of repeating pattern in soft earthy tones and beautiful natural light. In theory, the work questions whether or not it is vital to view a subject’s face, and how artists should depict people in modern times.

The work will be on display in the Artists’ Choice Exhibition at the Capitol Hill Art League at 545 7th Street SE, Washington, DC from Saturday, January 7 until Sunday, January 29, 2017. All work is for sale and entry is free.
